On New Year’s Day, Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her partner, Ken Urker, announced the birth of their daughter.
In an Instagram post, Urker shared a photo of the three of them in the hospital following her birth.
“Welcome 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” he captioned the photo.
In an earlier interview with People, Blanchard gave Urker credit for picking out the name Aurora Raina, saying, “There’s a whole backstory to it.”
She told People in December that she and Urker “have a fascination with the Northern Lights” back when they dated the first time several years ago.
“And the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” she continued.
In a recent statement, Blanchard confirmed their daughter’s moniker.
However, in that same note shared on Instagram Stories, Blanchard responded to all of those who are asking for a photo of their newborn daughter.
“To everyone asking, No, I will not be posting pictures of Aurora,” the 33-year-old new mom wrote. “I understand everyone’s excitement and we appreciate the support, but we value the privacy and safety of our daughter. We continue to express love towards our supporters and thank you for following our journey.”
Blanchard first announced she was pregnant with Urker’s baby in July on YouTube.
In an interview with Good Morning America, Blanchard said she hopes to give her child everything her own mother didn’t give her.
“My mother did not want to see me meet those milestones that every child should have, like going on a first date, a prom, you know, a bike ride. All of those little milestone moments that make life worth living, I didn’t get to have that,” she said. “And so I want my child to have all of the things that he or she could ever want in life.”
