On Married At First Sight, Allen Slovick feels not good enough as Madison Myers shows no attraction no matter what he wears, says or does. Ikeche Ojore continues blaming Emem Obot for everything, but she still takes him back. Michelle Tomblin tries a glow up for David Trimble. And Karla Juarez shows Juan Franco a little more of her world. Let’s take a wild ride with the Chicago couples in this recap of Season 18, Episode 11 She Said/He Fled.
Married At First Sight: Allen Slovick’s Frustration Grows
On Married At First Sight, Allen Slovick struggles with Madison Myer‘s lack of attraction. He’s hitting the gym. And losing the broccoli thongs. Heck, he even agreed to let go of some of his corny jokes. But he’s not stupid. So, her lack of affection and attraction is clear as day. The pair do like to party. But argue after a trip to a bar to watch a football game when Allen wants to drive back to his place after imbibing.
Madison warns him against it. But he says he’s fine. The morning after he gives flimsy excuses as to why he took the risk. He claims he just had an early morning and some stuff to do. But it seems there is still some tension there. So, the MAFS mismatch meet up with expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz to dig a little deeper. Allen Slovick tells Pepper that no matter what he does, he just doesn’t feel like Madison is attracted to him. So, he point blank asks her if it’s true.
Madison Myers responds that it’s a weird question on Married At First Sight. She says she’s attracted to his kindness. But at this point it’s not what Allen Slovick wants to hear. He also brings up her being much more natural with hugs and interactions with the rest of the cast, especially David Trimble. So, is this a foreshadowing to some intermingling of the Chicago cast? Inquiring minds want to know.
Married At First Sight: Ikeche Ojore Takes No Accountability
On MAFS, Ikeche Ojore is quickly becoming this season’s resident jerk. He’s already moved out of the apartment he shares with Emem Obot. And embarrassed her at the couple’s anniversary dinner. Emem Obot is still stinging from the criticisms and name calling he’s subjected her too. She sits down with Dr. Pia Holec who kind of drops the ball here by suggesting it’s Emem who is too sassy for Ikeche.
On the other side of town Pastor Cal Roberson meets with Ikeche Ojore. Who whines that Emem was pushing him to be intimate before he was ready. And asks too many questions. Of course Pastor Cal is aghast. As he loves it when the Married At First Sight couples jump right in to all the benefits of being legally married. He puts Ikeche in his place for calling her an a-hole. But still wants him to give the experiment another try.
Later the experts sit down with Ikeche and Emem. It’s all kinds of awkward. Especially when Pastor Cal Roberson tries to explain away Ikeche’s bad behavior by saying he’s art and she’s science. In other words suggesting Emem tone things down as to not insult his sensitive hipster doofus side. In the end, it’s Emem Obot who asks him to move back into the apartment. He agrees, but tells a producer he’s not happy about it.
MAFS Couples Show Their True Selves
In other messy matches on Married At First Sight , Michelle Tomblin makes a little progress during a sit down with Dr. Pepper and David Trimble as their different pasts and views come into play. But Michelle thinks he needs a style makeover, so she drags him clothes shopping with a friend. At the store she suggests he try some styles that give off Drake and Travis Kelce vibes. David’s a good sport. But scenes from next week hint he took those style vibes somewhere else.
Camille Parsons and Thomas McDonald continue to be stable if not a touch boring. Thomas seems to be holding back a little to play it safe. The pair are tasked with the standard MAFS assignment of writing a letter to your younger self. Camille admits to being a caretaker for younger siblings amid her parent’s divorce. And Thomas gets emotional about his father and childhood insecurities. But these two sail on with the best chances of making it work.
Juan Franco was obviously concerned when Karla Juarez quit her hair salon job on Married At First Sight. To her credit she’s already styling clients at home. Juan grills her about the business side of things. But she’s convinced the energy of the universe and a few pink crystals will give her all she needs to succeed. She wants Juan to understand her better. So, she takes him to a Pilates class with her mentor. He leaves with some sore glutes and a crystal of his very own. Namaste till next time!
