Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans that the government is dedicated to fulfilling its promises and improving their lives.
The DP emphasised that instead of focusing on politics, leaders should concentrate on delivering development projects, creating jobs and ensuring better services for all citizens rather than engaging in premature political campaigns.
Speaking in Nyeri during an inspection of the Endarasha-Kimunyuru road, Kindiki said the government was focused on development, economic growth and improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
“The government is fully committed to fulfilling its pledges to Kenyans. Our priority is to implement policies that will uplift the economy, create jobs and improve access to essential services such as healthcare, education and security. This is not the time for unnecessary political distractions,” he said.
The second-in-command said that the government has stabilised, allowing the resumption and completion of stalled projects.
“Most of the projects in the Mt Kenya region that have contributed to economic growth were initiated during the former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Covid-19 pandemic era, causing many of these projects to stall. Now, with the economy stabilised under the current administration, the government has sufficient funds for development, including infrastructure projects such as roads, electricity, water, affordable housing and agricultural improvements to boost food security,” he said.
Kindiki noted that while political discussions are an integral part of democracy, leaders should prioritise service delivery and work towards tangible development that directly benefits Kenyans.
“I urge all leaders to set aside their political differences and focus on tackling the urgent issues facing our nation, such as the high cost of living, unemployment and the need for better infrastructure.
The Kenya Kwanza administration is working to increase electricity access to more than one million more households,” he said.
Kindiki emphasised the importance of national unity, saying there should be no room for division among Kenyans. He urged citizens to work together, regardless of their political or ethnic backgrounds, to foster peace and development.
“Kenya is a united nation, and we must work together to ensure lasting peace and stability. We want a country where everyone feels safe and free to live, work and do business anywhere, without fear or discrimination. Any attempts to divide Kenyans along regional or ethnic lines must stop. Our focus should be on unity and development, not division and exclusion,” he said.
