Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn’t the only member of the family getting ready for a big day.
While the three-time Super Bowl champ takes aim at his fourth ring, his half-brother, Graham Walker, is preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. The senior out of Rice declared his intention to go pro on January 30.
Walker and Mahomes share father Patrick Mahomes Sr., though Walker grew up with his mother, Jessamyn Walker, and stepfather, Gerry Howatt. He attended the prestigious Avon Old Farms high school in Connecticut before committing to play football at Brown University.
After three seasons with the Bears, Walker transferred to Rice University for his final collegiate season. He has signed with Equity Sports to represent him.
Though it’s entirely possible that Patrick and his half-brother square off against each other — or are even teammates — sometime in the near future, Walker has a long way to go before he suits up on Sundays. First up is the NFL Combine, where he will have a chance to prove he belongs in the most prestigious football league on Earth.

Graham Walker Was a Stand-Out Ivy League Player
Walker spent three years playing for Brown, which competes in the FCS sub-division of Division I. Though the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out his first season, he made a splash in 2021 and was named a Sophomore All-American by HERO Sports. He was also named Phil Steele FCS Ivy League Rookie of the Year after a 53 receptions and six touchdown catches season.
He was named all-Ivy League the next two seasons as he caught nine more touchdown passes and racked up more than 800 yards. In Walker’s final game at Brown, he had a season-high 92 receiving yards and five receptions in a loss to Dartmouth.
He Transferred to Rice to Improve His Odds of Making the NFL
Walker rode that momentum into the transfer portal, where he eventually committed to Rice.
“Seeing the track record of guys going to the NFL and the development from the coaching staff just made it an easy choice,” Walker said at the time.
The move paid off, as Walker was named all-American Athletic Conference honorable mention as a tight end. He caught 24 passes for 252 yards in 2024.
Walker Prefers to Stay Out of the Spotlight
Though Patrick is one of the most famous athletes in the country and his brother Jackson has made his share of headlines, Walker prefers to stay under the radar.
“He’s a little bit more laid back than the others. Stays away from the spotlight and goes out and grinds and works. But a very impressive young man,” Mahomes Sr. said in a January 2024 interview with FOX4. “His manners are intact, his stepdad did a great job with him, his mom did a great job with him and now I’m getting the chance to put my hands on him a little more.”
Walker is also not very active on social media, boasting just over 4,000 followers on Instagram.
Walker Has Developed a Relationship With Patrick Mahomes Sr.
Walker grew up with his mother but has his father’s support. When Walker announced his declaration for the NFL Draft via instagram, his dad jumped into the comments, writing, “That’s my boy. Let’s get it.”
“He definitely is a Mahomes,” Mahomes Sr. told FOX4. “His stepdad did a great job with him, his mom did a great job with him.”
He Has Patrick Mahomes’ Support But They Are Not Close
Patrick and his half-brother have met multiple times and, according to their father, Patrick is a supportive older sibling — , though the two do not appear to be close. Still, Patrick Sr. hopes his Super Bowl-bound son will help Walker if or when he turns pro.
“Hopefully in this off-season Patrick will get a chance to throw the ball to him, run routes, as Patrick always has his receivers come down,” Mahomes Sr. said.
“You know, his word may be a little good, so maybe he can get [Graham] in the door too,” he added.
