Isla Fisher has revealed she still has a wedding gift for Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt sitting in her home.
Fisher, 49, told The Times of London in an interview published on Saturday, February 8 that she failed to present the gift to Aniston, 55, and Pitt, 61, after the pair got married in July 2000. (Aniston filed for divorce from Pitt in March 2005 and the proceedings were finalized in October that year.)
The Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy star told the outlet that she met Aniston through Aniston’s Friends costar Courteney Cox, before living in Aniston’s Hollywood home “in the mid-Noughties” with Fisher’s estranged husband, Sacha Baron Cohen. (Fisher and Cohen filed for divorce in September 2023.)
Years after Fisher and Cohen, 53, moved out of Aniston’s home, Fisher discovered the ungifted purchase in her own kitchen. “I found a vase in my kitchen, I turned it upside down and it said ‘Brad and Jen, happy wedding’,” Fisher told the outlet. “Somehow, when I left her house I took that vase. So I have to get it back to her. It’s beautiful.”
Fisher and Aniston have maintained a friendship for years, starring in the 2013 film Life of Crime together alongside Will Forte and Tim Robbins. The gal pals have also been photographed at various events together over the years, including the 2015 Academy Awards when Aniston was snapped kissing Fisher’s baby bump at Vanity Fair’s afterparty.
At the time, Fisher had been expecting her third child with Cohen, Montgomery, born just one month after the friends’ photographed outing. (Fisher and Cohen share two other children together: Olive, 17, and Elula, 14.)
Fisher’s recent interview also detailed memories from her stay at Aniston’s home all those years ago. She recalled spotting wild rabbits in Aniston’s garden. “They looked like movie rabbits, like CGI, because they were flawlessly white,” Fisher detailed.
The actress also revealed how friendships like the one she shares with Aniston have supported her in recent times. “The women in my life have held me … the female relationships that I cultivated in our business, those women have been there for me. I’m actually going to get emotional,” Fisher told the outlet. “I’m sitting here today because of them. I’ve learnt so much about the power of female friendship and I’ve just learnt that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership, and what my values are. It’s been this expansive learning curve.”
Fisher added, “I love Courteney [Cox],” before advising that she didn’t want to name-drop any other celebrities. “I’m not giving an Oscar speech right now!” she said.
The interview also touched on how Fisher has navigated a new normal since splitting from Cohen after two decades of marriage. “It’s the most difficult thing that I’ve been through and I’ve learnt so much about myself in the process,” she said. “I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents.”
