Mariah Copeland Faces Her Traumatic past on Young and the Restless
Recently, on Young and the Restless, Mariah Copeland was horrified to learn that her past wasn’t as far behind her as she would like. Long-time fans will recall that she was not raised by her parents, Sharon Newman and Nick Newman.
Instead, she was taken at birth and sold to unhinged cult leader Ian Ward. Mariah idolized him growing up but when she learned the truth he turned on her. She saw his true colors and fled to her real family, the Newmans.
For a long time on Young and the Restless, Mariah thought that was all behind her. But recently, it turned out that Ian was responsible for Sharon’s breakdown. He wanted Mariah back and thought that if he destroyed Sharon, Mariah would turn to him.
Of course, that’s delusional thinking and when Mariah finally came face-to-face with him she lost it. She told him that she wished he was dead and that she would kill him if he didn’t stay away from her family.
After an epic showdown, Ian was shot on Young and the Restless. Now, Mariah and the family think he is dead and they are free of him.
But what they don’t know is that he opened his eyes in the ambulance. So, not only is Ian Ward still a threat but they are more vulnerable now because their guard is down.
Ian Ward Out on Y&R
Recently, it was confirmed that Ian Ward‘s (Ray Wise) latest stint on the soap is over. However, the Young and the Restless showrunners would love for him to come back.
That’s why they left the door open for him by showing fans that he is still very much alive. And this time, if Ian does return, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will never see him coming.
Furthermore, he likely won’t target her mother, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), again. That might blow his cover. Instead, he will likely go right for Mariah…
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Ian Back for Revenge and Mariah?
It is likely that Ian will be back to wreak havoc on Y&R. It might be a while before he comes back but when and if he does he’ll likely come back with a bang. No doubt, he will want revenge against the whole Newman family.
Simply because he hates them and also because they killed his love and fellow psychopath, Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk). However the ultimate revenge may be to kidnap Mariah. That would devastate them all on Young and the Restless.
So, because the powers that be left an opening for Ian’s return, it looks like he’s not done. And Mariah and her loved ones are still in danger. Y&R is dramatic and unpredictable. Keep watching to see if Ian Ward comes back for Mariah Copeland on the CBS soap opera.
