Jessica Simpson Shares When Her New Song Will Be Released

Jessica Simpson is giving fans a sneak peek of her new music.

“USE MY HEART AGAINST ME. 2.21.25,” Simpson, 44, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, February 12. “‘Secretly anticipatin’ That you’re takin’ me with you’ …Y’all head on over to JessicaSimpson.com/music to pre-save my first new tune, sneak a peek into my eyes’ mind and get a first look at what these soul vibes are feelin’ like 💫.”

Alongside the message, Simpson shared a video of her singing the tune. “Go on, use my heart against me,” Simpson sang. “Don’t misuse / Don’t confuse my love.”

Simpson’s preview of her new song comes months after she revealed a return to music. “Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” she wrote via social media in November 2024. “This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve 🎶 🎼 🤍🖤.”

Earlier this month, Simpson released photos from a recording session that showed her sitting on a couch and singing into a microphone. Less than two months before, Simpson took to Instagram to share an image of herself leaning back in a chair filled with recording equipment. “I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul 💿,” she wrote at the time.

Simpson, whose hit tracks include “I Wanna Love You Forever” and “I Think I’m in Love With You,” last released an album in 2010 with Happy Christmas. More than a decade later, Simpson opened up about her possible return.

“I’m doing this as a mother now, as a wife. I was a wife last time, but this is a very different marriage,” she told Bustle during a 2023 interview. “And they’ve never seen me do this.”

Since taking a break from music, Simpson has focused on her family — which includes son Ace, 11, and daughters Maxwell, 12, and Birdie, 5. Simpson shares her three kids with Eric Johnson, whom she announced her split from in January.

“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she said in a statement to Us Weekly. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

Following Simpson and Johnson’s separation, a source exclusively told Us that she has been “focusing on herself and well-being” and noted that she’s “doing better each day.” While the insider noted that it’s been a “painful year” for Simpson, the source shared that she’s ready to move forward.

“She is house hunting in L.A. [and] figuring out where she will begin her new chapter with the kids,” the source said in the latest issue of Us, adding that Simpson is “doing her best to do it all with a positive mindset” and has been “taking things one step at a time.”
