Known Swiftie Nikki Glaser has a lot of thoughts on Taylor Swift being booed during Super Bowl LIX — and so does Bethenny Frankel.
“What’s wrong with everyone? I can’t even take it. Don’t even get me started on the booing last night. Like, I can’t,” Glaser, 40, said during “The Nikki Glaser Podcast” on Wednesday, February 12. “I went f—ing nuts today on Bethenny Frankel’s Instagram post. I couldn’t take it.”
Glaser mentioned Frankel’s support of Swift, 35, and explained to listeners that the RHONY alum was in “the right place” by sticking up for her.
“She pretty much was like — she didn’t say these words — but she was like, I think it’s, like, really disgusting and, like, bad for our daughters that people are just booing this girl that hasn’t done anything,” Glaser said.
Swift, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was shown on the Jumbotron at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9, before the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Chiefs 44-20. When spectators saw the singer, some started booing.
Frankel, 54, posted a video reaction on her various social media platforms after hearing about the incident.
“I didn’t see it for myself, but if people booed Taylor Swift. You don’t have to be a fan, a nonfan. What human being boos someone else who hasn’t really done anything wrong?” Frankel asked on Sunday. “That’s mean-spirited. That says bad things for our daughters and the future.”
Glaser left a comment that read, “It was so gross. And I love the hypocrisy of these comments. You all would lose your minds if you saw her in the street and beg for a selfie. America is cooked.”
On her podcast, Glaser, who was at Sunday’s big game, further explained what happened when Swift was shown on the jumbotron.
“Every time there were Eagles fans, cheers. Every time there was a Chiefs fan, boos. So when they put her up, it was obviously boos,” the comedian said. “But it wasn’t even that, that, I mean, I thought that was pretty disgusting. I was embarrassed and I went f—ing wild cheering. Then I was, ‘Wait, could my cheer be like caught up with the boos?’ So, I tried to go high pitch.”
Glaser continued, “I was just like, get the camera off of her. Whoever’s operating the camera, they were bouncing around so quick to all the celebrities. But on her, they really left it a really long time, which I understand it’s Taylor Swift. But once the boos started, they should have got it off of her immediately. Don’t make her sit and watch that and have to respond to it.”
