While Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal feud with Blake Lively continues to play out in the public eye, the It Ends With Us actor and director was seen catching waves in Hawaii.

Baldoni, 41, was spotted surfing in the Aloha State with friend Garrett Gee, according to photos obtained by TMZ. The photos showed the actor on his green surfboard, shirtless and sporting a pair of blue boardshorts.

He was also seen smiling, tanning and taking a stroll along the beach, according to the New York Post.

Baldoni’s wife, Emily Baldoni, was not pictured with him, but she was spotted with Justin in Maui last month on vacation as he enjoyed the Hawaii surf.

Justin Baldoni is leaning on his loved ones amid his ongoing legal battle against Blake Lively. “We’re grateful to be with the family, man,” Baldoni, 40, told photographers on Friday, January 17, at Los Angeles International Airport in a video obtained by TMZ. “We have amazing friends and family and faith.” Baldoni shares daughter Maiya, […]

His excursion comes two days after Endeavor executive Ari Emmanuel admitted on the “Freakonomics” podcast that WME, the Endeavor-owned agency that represented Baldoni, fired him because of the firm’s ties to Lively, 37, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Lively and Reynolds, 48, are both WME clients.

“I mean it is a f—ed up, bad situation with what Baldoni … is doing,” Emanuel said. “[He was my client] until I fired him.”

Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and trying to destroy her reputation. Baldoni subsequently filed a defamation suit against her and denied the accusations. He also named Reynolds in his suit, and the couple has denounced his allegations.

“It’s not really fair,” Emanuel continued. “I’ve known Ryan and Blake for over a decade. They’re really incredible people. In Hollywood, they have been incredibly successful. People work with them, they’ve never had any bad mojo out there or treated people badly.”

Lively’s lawyers subpoenaed Baldoni’s phone records, as well as those from film producer Jamey Heath and Steve Sarowitz, in an attempt to uncover evidence of a smear campaign against the actress, Us Weekly confirmed on Thursday, February 13.

“Phone records belonging to all of the individual defendants will expose the full web of individuals who were involved in the smear campaign against Ms. Lively,” a Lively representative said in a statement to Us. “Such records will provide critical and irrefutable evidence not only about who, but also about when, where, and how their retaliation plan came together and operated.”

Baldoni’s team fired back, taking issue with the scope of the subpoena, which his lawyer, Bryan Freedman, called “an ordinary part of the litigation.”

“What is extraordinary is what the Lively Parties are seeking. They are asking for every single call, text, data log, and even real-time location information for the past 2.5 years, regardless of the sender, recipient, or subject matter,” he said in a statement. “This massive fishing expedition demonstrates that they are desperately seeking any factual basis for their provably false claims. They will find none.”
