Kenya’s fast-rising singer Stevo Simple Boy has elicited mixed reactions on social media after announcing that he is seeking to hire a seasoned lawyer.

The singer, who recently landed in Nairobi after an all-expenses-paid vacation in Mombasa, took the hiring post on social media on Monday, February 24, leaving his fans to speculate on its meaning.

The post was a photo of himself clad in a yellow puffer jacket alongside a black side-pocketed trouser where he wrote the caption on top of it.

“I’m looking for a good lawyer,” Stevo noted in the Instagram story.

The singer, however, did notshare any further details about what he needed the lawyer for or if anything unfortunate had occurred that required him to seek legal representation.

However, the photo he shared on his Instagram stories in which he made the announcement is similar to one he shared earlier on the same day, but he posted it on his main feed and used a different caption.

In the earlier post, he hailed himself as internationally accepted and locally approved and ended the caption with his self-proclaimed moniker, ‘The Dragon of Africa.’

“Internationally accepted, locally approved, Dragon wa Africa,” he shared.

Mombasa vacay

The post comes a paltry two days after he landed in Nairobi following a week-long vacation in Mombasa, where he was enjoying an all-expenses-paid treat.

The singer had the time of his life unwinding in the coastal town, even teasing his fans that he had bought a car after sharing a photo of one while kneeling beside it and captioning that God had blessed him with the gift.

The car was a red Mazda, but it remains unclear whether he actually purchased it as he claimed, as he has yet to be seen cruising in it around Nairobi since his return.

During that vacation, the singer was also spotted entertaining tourists on the beach in a video where he and his signee, Machabe, held a Bluetooth speaker and performed for tourists who circled them while dancing to his music.

Fashion statement

The post, in which he also posed while holding his hand in front of him with fingers spread out, comes amid a recent trend by the ‘Ndio Maanake’ crooner of stepping out in bold, runway-level outfits that have significantly added to his buzz and social media engagement.

One of the most recent ones was when he stepped out donning a meticulously designed astronaut-inspired outfit, consisting of a white puffer jacket and matching trousers, which he paired with a custom-made white helmet, making the look appear authentic.

In the post, he quipped that he had worn the outfit as an intentional jab at the government over abductions and planned to vanish into space before they could catch up with him.

“Serikali acheni kuteka watu nyara wapiga kura please… Dragon moto testing akili testing. Serikali wacha niwaambie. Anayeuza mayai sokoni hafai kuanzisha vita. Na mahali tumefika huwezi kushawishi nyani eti asali ni tamu kuliko ndizi na akawaelewa. Naenda space, watu wa Subaru hamnipati ngo,” he said.
