Stevo Simple Boy has come out to clarify the nature of his relationship with Geoffrey Machabe, whom he introduced as a signee under his label, Stevo Simple Boy Empire, in July 2024.
This comes after the singer was seen accompanying him everywhere he goes, including on his latest all-expenses-paid getaway to Mombasa, where they enjoyed performing for tourists on the sandy beaches.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Stevo warned people against misinterpreting their professional working relationship and urged all those who had heard any rumours about them to dismiss them.
He added that Machabe was merely his brother, someone he enjoyed working with, and clarified that he was not willing to entertain any false narratives that had been misconstrued from their friendship.
“Machabe is my brother; hizo mnaskia ni story za jabaa,” he shared.
Mombasa getaway
In the post, the Ndio Maanake crooner shared a video of himself and Machabe having a great time as they playfully held and dragged each other by the hands on a sandy beach, with the vast blue ocean glistening beside them.
The two seemed to be having an exciting time with Machabe repeatedly attempting to drag Stevo into the ocean, but Stevo kept hesitating.
The video is from their recent vacation to the coastal town, which officially commenced on February 13, 2025.
Everything about the trip was catered for, and the duo traveled via the SGR, as seen in multiple posts on Stevo’s Instagram.
While there, Stevo indulged in various fun activities alongside business engagements, and at one point, he teased his followers, claiming he had been gifted a car by a Mombasa-based dealership, leaving fans flooding his comment section with congratulatory messages.
The singer shared a photo of himself standing next to a red Mazda while expressing his gratitude for the gift that had just been extended to him and thanking God for the favor.
“Thank you for the gift. Thank you, boss @wakasgondal, for the favor. God bless you,” he shared.
Throughout the trip, Stevo continuously tagged Machabe in his posts, including one where they attempted snorkeling, during which Stevo nearly drowned after his floater flipped, plunging his head directly into the water.
At that moment, it was Machabe who quickly rushed to rescue him, and the two burst into laughter at how Stevo didn’t know how to swim, all while continuing to enjoy their adventure.

Machabe’s signing
Geoffrey Machabe came into Stevo’s life in July 2024, at a time when the singer was going through a rough patch following his public fallout with longtime manager Chingi Boy Mstadi.
Previously an aspiring gospel artiste, Machabe was signed by Stevo just days after he hosted him at his house in Kasarani, following his financial struggles, which had been exacerbated by his fallout with his manager.
During an interview a week after the signing, Stevo explained that he had chosen to work with him as a way of reciprocating the kindness he had once been shown, while also aiming to give his career a fresh start.
“I have signed a gospel artiste. His name is Machabe. He is a talented musician. I am so grateful to Stevo. He has been helping wholeheartedly. I believe this is the best move for my music career. We have even done a collaboration, and Stevo is so supportive of promoting the song,” he said.
