Fitness guru and dancer Chiki Kuruka has shared a touching message to celebrate the birthday of her close friend, media personality Tallia Oyando.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Chiki posted a photo of Tallia alongside a tribute, expressing the deep bond they share. She described their friendship as honest, true, dedicated, and real, though she admitted that no words could fully capture their connection.

In her message, Chiki reminisced about a special moment on her wedding day when she deeply felt the absence of her late grandmother. Sensing her emotions, Tallia stepped in with a thoughtful gesture, bringing her a drink to calm her nerves and a chain with her grandmother’s photo, reminding her that she was still present.

Chiki praised Tallia for being a kind and supportive friend, emphasizing that she deserves all the love she gives to others. She ended the message with warm birthday wishes.

“How do I even begin to explain us? Honest? True? Dedicated? Hilarious? Real? None of those words do us justice! But I’ll say this. When I was getting married, I missed my grandma, I felt her loss. You read my heart, and knew somehow; and came to my room as I was getting my makeup done, nervous AF, with a drink for me in one hand, and a chain with my grandma’s face in the other, and reminded me that she was present. That’s the friend you are! You deserve ALL the love you give, and more this year! Happy birthday to an absolute queen,” Chiki expressed.

Tallia’s birthday comes just weeks after she bid farewell to One Love, Citizen TV’s Saturday night reggae show, where she had been a host for eight years.

In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, January 20, 2025, Tallia expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the fans who had supported her throughout her journey, helping make the show a favourite among reggae enthusiasts.

While she did not disclose her next move, she hinted at exploring new opportunities.

“After 8 beautiful years of love, music, and family on One Love at Citizen TV, it’s time for a new chapter. Grateful for every one of you who made this journey unforgettable. Like Joseph Hill said, ‘Love shines brighter than the morning sun.’ This isn’t goodbye, greater things are ahead,” she wrote.

Signing off from One Love, the 41-year-old left her fans with a powerful message.

“As I take a bow from One Love, I leave you with this: ‘Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.’ Let the music keep freeing your spirit, lifting your soul, and uniting us all. This is not a goodbye; it’s a celebration of the music, the memories, and the family we’ve built. Like the songs we’ve cherished together, my love for you will never fade. ‘Don’t worry about a thing, cause every little thing is gonna be alright.’ With eternal gratitude and One Love, I remain your Night Nurse.”

Despite her departure from the show, she reassured fans that this was not a farewell but rather the beginning of a new journey, affirming her continued presence in the industry.
