Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has praised a section of Kenyans for standing and supporting award-winning singer Willy Paul.
Commenting on the ongoing debate after last night’s brawl at the Furaha City festival, Mwaura stated that the actions of those who attended the music event and those in solidarity with Willy Paul online portray patriotism.
“Ahsanteni Wakenya kwa kusimama na mkenya mwenzetu mwanamziki @WillyPaul Hun ndio uzalendo kamili. #MimiNiMkenyaMzalendoJeWewe?,” Mwaura wrote on his official X account on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
Willy’s solidarity started at the event, and Kenyans are still showing their support towards the singer on various social media platforms.

Kenyans quickly stood and encouraged the multitalented artiste after airing his frustrations at the event with many commending positively about his performance at the show.

Willy Paul on experience
Taking to his official Instagram account, Willy Paul voiced his frustration narrating how he was ill-treated at the Furaha City music festival that took place at the Nairobi Polo Club last night where he and other artistes invited to curtain raise for Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz.
The Na Na Na hitmaker went on to lament that he had faced mistreatment and almost been denied a chance to perform at the just-concluded event.
According to the multitalented singer, Tanzanian artistes were being given the first priority at the event.
“Tanzanian artists are being given priority at this event. This is sad. Mbona Wakenya wanadharauliwa mbele ya wabongo?” Willy Paul stated.
He further stated that Tanzanian artistes were being taken to the stage to perform as Kenyans got ignored in a last-minute change of the performing protocol.
“I’m being mistreated at the event. Wanaweka Tanzanians Waperform. Wanachange vitu last minute. Why are Kenyans allowing this?” he added
A disagreement is said to have ensued when the emcee at the event called Diamond Platnumz to perform before Willy Paul however the attendees demanded that the Kenyan act perform as per the schedule.
