Arie Luyendyk Jr. changed his mind about getting a vasectomy, recently undergoing a reversal procedure.
“We said we were done having kids, like, a couple years ago, but I think we’re gonna do it one more time,” Arie’s wife, Lauren Luyendyk (née Burnham), said in a Thursday, February 20, YouTube video. “That sounded funny, like, we’re only going to do it one time.”
Arie, 43, and Lauren, 33, have been married since 2019. They are already parents to daughter Alessi, 5, and twins Senna and Lux, both 3.
“As you guys know, I got the vasectomy [in 2022] after the twins were born,” Arie explained. “Ever since, I think I rushed it honestly. It’s more on me [and] I think having the twins was hard at first.”

According to Lauren, her husband scheduled the procedure “without consulting” her when the twins were 6 months old.
“He was like, ‘OK, it’s happening. We gotta do this is,’” she recalled in Thursday’s vlog. “And we did. I got on board.”
Arie, who previously thought he might have “rushed” the decision to get a vasectomy, changed his mind after watching his three kids playing together.
“All of our kids are at the best age right now and I just felt, like, ‘Dang it, I think we could do this again,’” Arie said. “If we had a singleton, we could totally handle that.”

While Arie is “totally” ready to have another baby, Lauren is slowly coming around to the idea.
“He totally convinced me that, like, chapter’s closed and I came to terms with that,” she said. “Now, I have to just get out of that again. So I’m getting there [while] Arie is totally there. … But, yeah, we’re going to do it again.”

Arie and Lauren previously let Us into their home life as a family of five.
“We feel like we’re in a spot where our kids are more independent and they’re easier to manage altogether now,” Lauren exclusively told Us Weekly in August 2023. “Like, they’re starting to have cute relationships [with each other]. Alessi likes to help them out and they help each other all the time, actually.”
Arie and Lauren initially met during The Bachelor season 22, though he ultimately proposed to Becca Kufrin. After the race car driver ended their engagement days after the finale, he reunited with Lauren. They renewed their wedding vows in 2023.
“We were not planning to renew our vows so early, but we heard about the Aruba I Do event, and we thought it was really cool and a fun opportunity for us to bring our kids with us and just have fun on the beach, celebrating love. So that’s what we did,” Lauren told Us that August. “I loved that our kids were there too. They had the best time. There were dancers from the island there and they had these crazy costumes and Lux was just, like, enamored with these dancers. [Lux] just, like, could not get over it. It was so fun.”
