Kenyan comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi has successfully built a modern bungalow in just two weeks for Faith Kathambi, a woman who recently went viral after being brutally beaten over claims of stealing flour from her neighbour’s house.
Omondi shared the heartwarming progress on his Instagram account on Monday, February 10, 2025. The photos and videos showed the completed house.
“God wins. ‘Team Sisi kwa Sisi‘ you are slowly but surely making history, changing lives and impacting the Community. May God abundantly bless those who give. Faith is not only a landowner but also a homeowner. Mungu awabariki” Omondi wrote.

The journey to Kathambi’s new home began when Omondi, moved by her plight, purchased a plot of land in Nairobi after an online fundraising. Determined to change her life, he led the construction of the house with support from his team and generous donors.
In an earlier video posted on January 27, 2025, Omondi and Kathambi were seen touring the partially completed house. The video captured the emotional moment as they inspected every room, with construction workers diligently working on the structure.
“God will use your lowest moment to lift you up. Tukasirike tumalize hii nyumba! Just last week, this woman was shamefully paraded, beaten, and cast out. But today, she owns the land and a house. I call it ‘the house on the hill’ because it signifies her lifting. ‘Team Sisi kwa Sisi‘ nyinyi ni wale wasee…you have done it again and god is happy,” Omondi shared.
In his previous post, Omondi also called on well-wishers to help with the final touches and to support Kathambi in starting a small business to ensure her long-term sustainability.
Flour incident
Kathambi, who is deaf, first drew national attention after her heartbreaking story was featured on a local TV station on January 16, 2025.
In the distressing footage that quickly went viral, she was seen being forcefully dragged from her home by her neighbour’s husband, accompanied by a group of men, and taken to their compound.
What unfolded was deeply disturbing— the man viciously kicked her before picking up a stick and beating her relentlessly.
