To check if they’ve won the Diversity Visa lottery, applicants need to visit the State Department’s website and provide their

Confirmation number, Last name, and Birth year.

The State Department won’t send notifications by mail, email, text, or phone.

Selected individuals will receive instructions on the website for applying for immigrant visas.

It’s important to keep the confirmation number until at least Sept. 30, 2024.

The Diversity Visa program awards 55,000 visas annually to people from countries with low immigration rates. Remember, the Entrant Status Check webpage is the only place to find results, and applicants should apply for visas as soon as they’re eligible.

Applicants register during an annual period and are chosen through a random lottery. Those selected in the DV-2025 program can apply for visas during fiscal year 2025, from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.
