How do I deactivate or delete my Snapchat account?

To deactivate or delete your Snapchat account, follow the steps below. This will deactivate an account for 30 days, during which time the account can still be reactivated. After 30 more days, the account will be permanently deleted.

To deactivate or delete your Snapchat account on Android or the web…

1. Log in to the Snapchat accounts portal
2. Tap ‘Delete my account’
3. Input your password
4. Tap ‘Continue’ to confirm account deactivation/deletion

To deactivate or delete your Snapchat account on iOS…

1. Tap the ⚙️ button in the Profile screen to open Settings
2. Scroll down to ‘Account Actions’
3. Tap ‘Delete Account’
4. Log in to the Snapchat accounts portal
5. Tap ‘Delete my account’
6. Input your password
7. Tap ‘Continue’ to confirm account deactivation/deletion

If you’re having trouble logging in to the accounts portal because you forgot your password, you can reset it.

Please note: Some deleted account data is retained for legal, security, and business needs. For example, we’ll retain information about any purchases you may have made through Snapchat, and when you accepted our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
