How To Reverse Mpesa Till Payment

What happens when you accidentally send money to the wrong till number on M-Pesa, don’t worry, there’s a way to fix it. Here’s a simple guide on what to do

  1. Call Safaricom M-Pesa customer care by dialing 234 or 100.
  2. Let them know you need to reverse a transaction. They’ll put a hold on the money in the wrong till number.
  3. Safaricom will contact the owner of that till number to check if they got the money.
  4. They’ll also ask you if you received any service from that till number. If not, they’ll proceed.
  5. If the owner agrees to reverse the transaction, your money will be back in your M-Pesa account within 72 hours.

Remember, you have about two hours from when you sent the money to initiate the reversal. If, for some reason, it doesn’t work, you can visit the Safaricom Customer Care Centre.

Keep in mind, always double-check the till number before making transactions to avoid this hassle. If you ever send money to the wrong till, call Safaricom customer care right away.
