Kibera-born rapper Stephen Otieno Adera alias Stevo Simple Boy has urged fans seeking financial assistance to exercise patience.
Taking to his Instagram on Thursday, January 30, 2024, the artiste revealed that he receives over 200 requests for financial help daily. However, he explained that he can only assist a limited number of people each day due to his circumstances.
The rapper, whose financial hurdles were highly publicized in 2023, empathized with his fans’ challenges, expressing his commitment to helping as many as possible.
“Hi, sijakuja kuanika mtu yeyote bali nataka kuweka wazi ili msinichukulie kwa ubaya, kwa siku napata ujumbe kama hizi zaidi ya 200, na kwa kila siku lazima nisaidie watu watano,” Stevo wrote.
He reassured his fans that their turn for assistance would come. Stevo also reflected on his past hardships, explaining that his experiences motivated him to give back.
“So kama sijakusaidia bado ngojea tu zamu yako itafika please, najua uchungu wa kukosa kwa sababu pia mimi nimepitia hizi changamoto,” he added.
Stevo promised to continue supporting his fans to the best of his ability. He expressed faith that his generosity would be rewarded.
“Nitawasaidia 100%, ata kama nitabaki bila chochote Mungu ataleta zingine. Mungu please bariki mafans wangu wasikose.”
Stevo’s financial breakthrough
This comes just weeks after the “Freshi Barida” crooner shared that he had regained stability following a tough period of financial hardships, the loss of his managers, and relocating back to Kibera.
In an interview with a local TV station, the artiste, disclosed that he had recently experienced a financial breakthrough and was now earning well from his music.
He explained that travelling to different countries and holding shows helped him overcome the financial struggles he faced. Additionally, he acknowledged his stylists for helping him create abuzz with his unique fashion sense.
“This is great and if Kenyans also support me, Kenyan music will also rise. If there is a show, people say Stivo can actually do it. Muziki inalipa. Mimi niko sawa,” he said.
Speaking in another interview with a local radio station, Stevo expressed his contentment and happiness with his career’s progress and emphasized that it was now paying off. He urged fans to continue supporting his work.
“Saa hii siko vibaya. Niko yente yente. I just need more support from fans,” he stated.
