Jennifer Lopez is taking her hip-huggers out of retirement.
Lopez, 55, proved that anything can come back into style while rocking a pair of ultra low-rise jeans at an Unstoppable screening earlier this week. For the event, she paired her light-wash denim pants with a baby blue blazer featuring a darker velvet lining. Lopez added just the right amount of attitude to the look with a completely sheer blouse featuring a relaxed necktie.
Lopez contrasted her all-blue outfit with rosy suede peep-toe heels and diamond rings.
To match her platforms, Lopez donned soft pink eyeshadow, long lashes and peachy lips. Her bronde hair was parted down the middle and styled in a messy updo.
Lopez — along with more of the early 2000s It Girls including Paris Hilton and Christina Aguilera — was a poster girl for low-rise jeans in the noughties.
In 2001, she showed off her toned torso in lace-up denim while making an appearance at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Her itty-bitty jeans featured a flared silhouette adorned with different patches of denim and thick lace replacing a button-fly enclosure. Along with her sexy pants, Lopez wore a black turtleneck knit and a fur vest.
Hilton, 43, and Aguilera, 44, were also huge fans of the fad back in the day, often showing off their figures in jeans so low we’re still confused how they didn’t have a wardrobe malfunction.
One of Hilton’s most famous looks came in 2002, when she looked hot in a pink halter top at the Ivar Nightclub Grand Opening Party. Her jeans hit so low on her body that both her hips were exposed. To add even more flair to her look, Hilton tied a hot pink belt around her upper thighs.
Aguilera also left little to the imagination in patchwork jeans at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards. In true Y2K fashion, the singer complemented her jeans with a lace-embellished crop top, a gold chain belt and a sideways denim patchwork cap.
