Jesse Palmer isn’t ready to put away the roses for good on The Bachelorette.
“The good news is I know it’s not going away. I know it’s definitely coming back,” Palmer, 46, shared on the Tuesday, February 11, episode of the “Playing the Field” podcast. “Without being able to get into too much of the creative decisions on it, I know that when it does, I just think it’s going to be absolutely tremendous.”
Earlier this month, Us Weekly learned that ABC won’t be airing the popular dating show, which typically kicks off around July each year.
While the network hasn’t canceled the reality show, Us understands it is unlikely The Bachelorette will return in 2025 — but the option hasn’t been ruled out.
“I can’t get too far in depth with a lot of the creative decisions that went into that,” Palmer told podcast hosts Ryan Field, Jen Matarese and Gina Sirico of the show’s hiatus. “I know it’s not unprecedented for The Bachelorette not to air in the summer.”
Season 18 of The Bachelorette with Michelle Young did premiere in October 2021, while Claire Crawley and Tayshia Adams’ joint season aired in October 2020.
Regardless of timing, Palmer admitted that he is a “little bit bummed” that a new season of The Bachelorette won’t be happening as quickly as fans expected or hoped.

“I always love my interactions on that show with the lead,” he explained. “I love getting to meet a whole brand new cast and I love being there to help guide people towards hopefully finding everlasting love on the show.”
As Bachelor Nation continues to watch Grant Ellis’ journey to finding love on The Bachelor, ABC already confirmed Bachelor in Paradise will be returning this summer.
As Palmer explained, fans still have plenty to look forward to in the weeks and months ahead.
“I feel really really good with where the franchise is as a whole right now with The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette,” he shared. “There’s just so much that I think the franchise is offering in a variety and so much diversity in a lot of different ways.”
While Palmer acknowledges how special it has been to witness stars like Charity Lawson, JoJo Fletcher and Trista Sutter find their forever person on The Bachelorette, he’s giving viewers hope that another opportunity will come sooner rather than later.
“Once it does come back, I know Bachelor Nation will be really excited,” he said. “I think Bachelor Nation as a whole is constantly evolving.”
Ellis’ season of The Bachelor is currently airing on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
