Kaitlyn Bristowe knows she has a complicated relationship with her body — and Instagram.
“Not me having body dysmorphia and then posting bikini pics,” the former Bachelorette, 39, captioned Instagram pics from her recent trip to Mexico on Monday, February 17. The post’s first slide featured a mirror selfie Bristowe took while sporting a white bikini.
“I don’t get me. But I love me,” she added. “And I love family time. Adios Mexico. Back to my babies ❤️.”
The first photo was one of many swimsuit pics Bristowe shared in her post, which also included a clip of herself sporting the same white bikini by a pool. She wore a black bikini top and pink bottoms while snapping another mirror selfie and taking a ride on the pool’s water slide. For a nighttime dip in the pool, Bristowe donned a bright pink one-piece bathing suit.
Fans praised Bristowe for her candid post in the comments section, as well as shared their own body image struggles. “Sometimes we love how we look and sometimes we hate it – I blame our hormones 🫠. Btw, you look amazing!” one user commented, while another wrote, “I don’t post them but I take them and I look back on them fondly like ‘girl remember that one day when… 😂.”
The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos also gushed over Bristowe’s bikini body, commenting, “Remind me to never sit on a beach next to you!!!”

Bristowe previously opened up about experiencing body dysmorphia ahead of doing a swimsuit photo shoot in March 2024. “5 years ago I would have thought I need[ed] to eat air and grilled chicken to prep,” she wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “Right now in this moment I’m thinking, ‘Ugh I love snacks. Eating these snacks aren’t going to change my body overnight AND … working out and not feeding my body will only make me miserable. I’m gonna be hard on myself no matter what but lets [sic] lean into alllll the feelings and try to love on this body that I keep strong and healthy.’”
She continued, “I still struggle but recognizing growth in a WIN. Body dysmorphia is real.”
Over the years, Bristowe has been candid about how her appearance has changed since Bachelor Nation fans met her on season 19 of The Bachelor in 2015. “Everyone’s like, ‘Stop doing stuff to your face,’” she said in a February 2024 Instagram Story video. “I will never. I love skincare. I love having bright, tight, glowy skin. I love it.”

In December 2024, Bristowe took to Instagram to share then-and-now photos of herself, writing, “Believe it or not, I’ve done more work on the inside. You can’t physically see that, but I’ve never felt it more.”
She went on to address online trolls, stating, “To the people who always wanna comment ‘You were so much prettier before all the work you’ve had done,’ I suggest you do the important work on the inside before judging what’s on the outside.”
