Lindsay Shiver Set to Be Released on Bail After Allegedly Plotting to Kill Estranged Husband

Former beauty queen Lindsay Shiver, who is accused of plotting to kill her estranged husband, is set to be released from prison on bail.

Shiver’s attorney Ian Cargill confirmed to WDHN that his client will be released from Fox Hill Prison in Nassau on Thursday, February 13.

According to her lawyer, Shiver will be released under her original bail conditions, meaning she will be allowed to return to the United States. Her bail stands at $100,000, Good Morning America reported.

In July 2023, Lindsay was arrested in Abaco, Bahamas, alongside her alleged lover Terrence Bethel and suspected hitman Farron Newbold Jr. At the time, police discovered an alleged series of messages in which Lindsay detailed a plan to murder her estranged husband, Robert Shiver.

All parties have pleaded not guilty to various charges, with Bethel telling Good Morning America, “Nobody ever wanted him dead. I’m definitely not guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, and Faron’s not guilty of being a hired hitman. It’s time to let the world know we’re innocent.”

Robert first filed for divorce from Lindsay months before the alleged murder-for-hire incident. In court documents obtained by CNN, he listed her “adulterous conduct” as the reason for the divorce, while her filing stated that she “incurred debt beyond her means to pay.”

While Robert previously played football for Auburn University before joining the NFL as a free agent during the 2009 season, he pivoted careers and began working at Senior Life Insurance Company.

The case continued to make headlines when Chrisley Knows Best star Savannah Chrisley started dating Robert after the incident.

“This guy that I’m talking to, his wife just tried to kill. It’s fine,” Chrisley alleged on a September 2023 episode of “The Viall Files” podcast before calling Robert “too hot to die.”

In December 2024, Savannah confirmed her relationship with Robert was still going strong. The reality star also said she was considering the possibility of having kids with Robert once his divorce from Lindsay is finalized. (Robert and Lindsay had three children during their marriage.)

“When his divorce is official, I think things will move quick,” she said on her “Unlocked” podcast. “I want my kids to be able to enjoy life with him as adults, so it has got to happen sooner rather than later.”

Lindsay’s trial has been pushed from March 2025 to August 29, 2025.
