Meghan McCain Slams Meghan Markle’s Rebrand: ‘I Cannot Stand Her’

Meghan McCain remains unimpressed with Meghan Markle’s business decisions after leaving the royal family.

“I cannot stand her,” McCain, 40, said on the Wednesday, February 19, episode of Meghan McCain’s Happy Hour digital series. “I love people that I can relate to, like every other 40-year-old mom. I don’t want to eat her jam. I love Princess Kate [Middleton].”

Earlier in the week, Markle, 43, announced via social media that she was renaming her lifestyle brand from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever.

“‘As ever’ means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always,’” Markle explained via Instagram on Tuesday, February 18. “If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me. This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living and finding joy in the everyday.”

Meghan Markle’s new brand logo has a thoughtful nod to her relationship with Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, announced plans to rename her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, to As Ever in a video posted to her personal Instagram account on Monday, February 17. The brand’s official Instagram account also reflects the name […]

After watching the video announcement, McCain appeared to be confused with what Markle was trying to accomplish.

“I don’t know what she’s doing,” she told guests Perez Hilton and Mary Katharine Ham. “This is, like, her ninth rebrand. I actually had to review her show and her podcast, and it was horrible. It was so boring.”

In addition to her lifestyle brand, Markle recently celebrated the premiere of her new lifestyle series on Netflix. Titled With Love, Meghan, the show “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming” with Markle at the forefront “blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends.”

After watching the show’s trailer in January, McCain said the sneak peek was “highly curated, produced and out of touch.”

“I was originally a Meghan Markle supporter, I thought she was cool, stylish and refreshing,” she said via X at the time. “Like the rest of the world, my opinion changed when she disrespected the royal family. Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy, what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncensored.”

McCain also expressed her thoughts that the show’s concept was “ill-advised.”

Meghan Markle is bringing a little bit of herself in her next venture with American Riviera Orchard and an upcoming Netflix series. “The line is organic to who she is,” a source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly, noting that the Duchess of Sussex’s “passions are cooking and gardening.” Meghan, 42, filed […]

“I would have told her to do a show helping bring fresh food to food deserts in low income neighborhoods,” she shared. “Do something to help people instead of your ego.”

During her latest Happy Hour conversation, McCain said Markle should look to First Lady Michelle Obama as an example of someone who is “very real.”

“She has actually had some of the best marriage advice I’ve ever heard from anyone,” McCain said. “When I first got pregnant, Michelle Obama had this quote where she was like, ‘Women can have it all, but they can’t have it all at once.’ Your career is inevitably going to suffer if you have a child in one form or another. For me, it was the honesty of that. Meghan Markle’s never going to say, ‘I can’t have it all at once.’”
