Jamaican reggae sensation Etana, whose real name is Shauna McKenzie, has revealed that a part of her heart beats for her Kenyan fanbase.
The celebrated singer landed in Nairobi on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, ahead of the much-anticipated concert dubbed Good Vibes Festival set to take place at the A.S.K The Dome in Nairobi on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
The event, organized by Mediamax Network Limited, promises an unforgettable night for reggae lovers, featuring Etana’s soulful voice.
Speaking to K24 TV’s Sarah Ibrahim shortly after arriving, Etana shared her excitement and love for Kenya. She shared her admiration for the vibrant and passionate energy of her Kenyan fans, noting their unique love for reggae music.

The singer expressed her gratitude to her fans who she says she loves how they actively participate when she is performing by singing along to her songs.
“I always look forward to meeting the people, going to the hotel where they make the tea with the little heart, and being on the stage singing with the people,” she revealed.
Etana noted how unique her Kenyan fans are as she never misses a group in her audience whenever and wherever she is performing.
“The vibe and the love for reggae music… The way they sing to me! And let me tell you, no matter where I go in the world, there is always a Kenyan or a Kenyan group of people in my audience,” she said.
This marks Etana’s seventh visit to Kenya, her last being three years ago. Over the years, she has built a strong connection with Kenyan reggae lovers, who she says always make her feel at home.
She recently went viral while performing in the Netherlands where proudly waved a Kenyan flag as she sang her much-loved track Weakness in Me.
The Good Vibes Festival sponsored by Mediamax Network Limited in Nairobi is just the beginning of a nationwide tour. Etana is set to perform in five venues across Kenya, including stops in Eldoret, Nanyuki, Mombasa, and Meru, from December 6 to December 15, 2024.
