Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow found the biggest catch in his wife, Demi-Leigh Tebow.
Tim and Demi-Leigh met in 2018 at a South African event for one of his nonprofits and got engaged six months later.
“[Being engaged] is awesome. It’s so incredible and we’re so blessed,” Tim exclusively told Us Weekly in February 2019. “We’re so aligned in what matters most to us and we get along so well. She’s so incredibly special … I almost can’t even put it into words.”
Tim and Demi-Leigh, a former Miss Universe who hails from South Africa, also had to overcome a language barrier when they first started dating.
“Her first language is Afrikaans, not English. I was like, ‘Keep well? … I don’t know if I’m going to see you again!’” he told Us in August 2024 after she ended one conversation with the phrase, “Keep well.”
Demi-Leigh, for her part, added that “loving in a second language is different.”
After conquering language difficulties, Tim and Demi-Leigh tied the knot in January 2020. Five years later, they announced they were expecting their first baby.

“We’re both very traditional,” she told People at the time. “We wanted to look back at the wedding and see that it was intimate, elegant and traditional. Demi-Leigh published her memoir, A Crown That Lasts, and Tim was her No. 1 supporter throughout the process.
“[It took] so much courage to write about the hard moments in her life,” Tim gushed to Us, calling the book a “great encouragement” to other women.
At the time, Demi-Leigh also praised Tim as her “sounding board” while she wrote each chapter.
“There [were] nights of writing from 7 p.m. to, like, three in the morning,” she said. “He’d just [make] me a hot bath with some Epsom salt.”
