Ruaraka Member of Parliament Tom Joseph Kajwang on Sunday, January 12, 2025, hinted at re-admitting President William Ruto to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.
Speaking at a church service in Dagoretti North, Nairobi, the vocal MP noted that he had embarked on a mission to evaluate ODM’s constitution and bring back the Head of State.
While describing the move as a prophecy, TJ Kajwang did not immediately announce when that would take place.
“I am looking blindly but I can also see good things happening. You are the founding member of ODM, this governor (Johnson Sakaja) was not in ODM but now he is in ODM,” TJ Kajwang stated.
“As the people’s Chief Justice for the People’s President, I will look at the articles and all sections of the constitution of ODM which will make you a member of ODM. I have prophesied,” he added.
By the time of this publication, Ruto had not responded to TJ Kajwang’s claims.
Ruto was among the founding members of the ODM party. He was elected Member of Parliament for Eldoret North constituency from 1997 to 2007 under the KANU, and from 2007 to 2013 through the ODM party.
He, however, left the outfit due to a fallout with Raila and other party members then.
Besides Kajwang, other ODM leaders who joined him at the church service pledged their support for President William Ruto’s administration.
“We are not here to lie to you, we will support you,” Madaraka MP George Aladwa insisted.
ODM to field candidate
This comes days after ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna announced that in 2027, the party will compete with the other parties independently as it has always done.
“We exist as a political party independently and are ready to battle it out for power with all the other existing political parties,” he said.
Sifuna added that as ODM party leaders, they are only focused on their issues and are strengthening themselves to clinch the top seat in the 2027 general elections.
He reiterated that they will not address or comment on issues to do with other political parties.
