On 90 Day Fiance, Mina Mack lands in America but she’s not impressed with Mark Bessette‘s spacious house finding it lonely and remnant of his past. Stevi Nichole crosses a bridge for Mahdi but will he be able to adjust to a culture so different than his own? Sarper Guven shows a sensitive side as he tells his parents he’s leaving. And newbie Greg makes a mean loaf of bread but isn’t exactly rolling in the dough. Let’s break it all down in this recap of Season 11, Episode 2 Love At First Flight.
90 Day Fiance: Mina Mack Isn’t Sure of Life in New Hampshire
On 90 Day Fiance, Mina Mack travels with her young daughter Maria to start a new life in the United States with her fiance Mark Bessette. Mark prepares for their arrival. He baby proofs the house and stocks up on champagne to celebrate. He will pick them up at a regional airport near Boston in his own small plane. He’s eager to impress Mina and Maria with his flight skills.
Mina Mack is a little surprised when she arrives in Boston that she can’t see the statue of Liberty. The Uber driver schools her of it’s actual whereabouts on the way to the airport where Mark waits. Mina Mack is a little afraid of the friendly skies. But Mark does a great job. They arrive to the house and it’s spacious, if maybe a bit dated. Mark Bessette is eager to show Maria her new room. But Mina is definitely unhappy when she notices a family photo including Mark’s ex-wife hanging on the wall.
Mina Mack lets Mark know she’s not happy about the photo on 90 Day Fiance. He tries to distract her with the gift of a white cowboy hat and some champagne. But Mina isn’t feeling the rustic house decor in the middle of a runway in New Hampshire. She suggests a move to the city. And speaks of only staying temporarily. To complicate things further, Mina Mack left her 9-year-old son Clayton behind in Paris due to a glitch with his passport. So, definitely some turbulence ahead for these two.
90 Day Fiance: Stevi Nichole Fights Her Fears to Pick Up Mahdi
Stevi Nichole is all nerves as she prepares to drive to New Orleans to pick up her 90 Day Fiance Mahdi from the airport. He has left Iran to come and be with Stevi. And he may never be able to return to Iran. But she’s worried if she can make it across a bridge on the way there without puking. She lists her other quirks such as not wearing pants in the house and suffering from night terrors. While Mahdi has experienced some of these issues, he hasn’t really had to deal with them full time before.
Stevi gets nauseous on the bridge but keeps it together. She prepares a special sign for Mahdi with an M at the end of his name. This signals commitment in his culture. Mahdi can feel the freedom when he arrives in America and it’s quite a contrast. He talks Stevi over the bridge and they check into a hotel. He’s emotional seeing an American flag blowing freely in the wind. And asks Stevi what she would do if he ever did want to go home to see family but couldn’t come back. She’s alarmed but tells him she won’t stand in his way.
TLC Couple Sarper Guven and Shekinah Garner Share Big News
Sarper Guven emerges from his visa interview looking glum on 90 Day Fiance. Shekinah Garner is concerned. Until he cracks a joke, revealing he did get approved. He jokes that he’s just too handsome to be unleashed in America. As it wouldn’t be fair to the other men. Shekinah is relieved. But the couple have to explain their plans of moving to America to Sarper’s parents. He is their only child, and this news is going to hurt.
Once at Sarper’s family home, they unwind with snacks and talk about the hot weather. Sarper Guven stresses. He suggests they cut to the chase. They are surprised and saddened by the news. In spite of loving Shekinah Garner. His mom fights back tears and so does he. His family probably won’t be able to get approval to attend their wedding in America if they follow through. Sarper Guven seems torn and it makes Shekinah a little nervous that he could back out.
Greg Fears Joan Won’t Be Happy in America
New to this season of 90 Day Fiance are Greg and Joan Kruchov. He is a baker/plumber on Long Island who lives with his mother in a modest home. She is from Uganda and holds a masters degree as well as running her own non-profit. Greg is happiest when he’s slapping around flour and dough to form his artisan Italian breads that he hand delivers to family and friends. He met Joan when he accidentally fell asleep on a man’s shoulder on an airplane.
Long story short, that particular man owned a safari company in Uganda, and invited Greg to check it out. There he met Joan Kruchov. And they connected while he was there. Joan pursued him on social media, and now she’s heading to Long Island to begin their 90 Days. Greg was once very overweight. While he’s won the battle of the bulge, there are other obstacles he and Joan face. Mainly, his lack of financial stability and having to live at home with his mom who does everything for him.
90 Day Fiance: Juan David Daza Is Weary of a Lack of Privacy
Juan David Daza, Jessica Parsons and the boys spend his first night in Torrington at a hotel. All in one room. So, there isn’t much privacy or peace and quiet for that matter. Jessica’s older sons are rambunctious. And the baby David will share their bed. Juan is happy he’s with his son. But hopes for privacy once they get to Jessica’s house. He’s a little shocked to see all the wall decor when he arrives.
On 90 Day Fiance, Jessica’s walls read like one big motivational speech. The beige prints wag fingers with sayings like “Be stronger than your excuses”. He finds it intimidating in it’s own way. And is even more dismayed to find out the master bedroom is in the basement next to the boy’s shared room and has no door. He finds some discrepancies in the way the house looked on video calls versus reality. Jessica Parsons laughs off the lack of privacy as “parenthood”, but it’s definitely not funny to Juan.
