Sweet Tea has firmly settled into her sophomore season on Married to Medicine, navigating the drama, her career, and marriage to Dr. Gregory Lunceford while sharing her thoughts on her co-stars and the challenges that come with being part of the Married to Medicine crew. With the reunion approaching, Sweet Tea is speaking out about her experiences, including her age-gap relationship group and tensions with some of her castmates.

Adapting to the Cameras

In a recent interview with BOSSIP, Sweet Tea shared how she’s become more comfortable with the cameras this season. Reflecting on her overwhelming first year, which included her wedding and a relocation to Atlanta, she noted how much better prepared she felt this time around.

“I think that was something that had to get used to,” Sweet Tea confessed to BOSSIP’s Managing Editor Dani Canada. “The previous year was particularly overwhelming, but this season, I feel like I had a deeper understanding of the ladies and anticipated the challenges that came.”

While she’s more familiar with the dynamics of the group, Sweet Tea acknowledged the cliquish nature of the cast, which still poses its challenges. However, she found comfort in her friendship with Dr. Contessa Metcalfe. “I love Contessa. Contessa actually came to my wedding, and we’ve been had a relationship,” Sweet Tea explained, noting that their bond has continued to grow through the season.

Friendship with Phaedra Parks

Another key friendship that has developed for Sweet Tea is with Phaedra Parks. Describing the reality star and lawyer as a “down home cousin,” Sweet Tea expressed admiration for Phaedra’s extensive reality TV experience. Despite Phaedra’s tense relationship with some of the cast, Sweet Tea insists Phaedra is all about fun. “She just has a lot of fun,” Sweet Tea said. “She just asked me to go to church with her last week, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, girl, we need to repent after this season.’”

Age-Gap Relationships

Sweet Tea has also focused on her Sweet & Savory Collective, which was featured in a recent episode. At a speed dating event, Sweet Tea led a discussion about age-gap relationships, a topic she knows well, given her marriage to Dr. Gregory Lunceford, who is over 20 years her senior. She addressed some of the misconceptions surrounding these kinds of relationships. “A lot of people were saying it was a gold digging class, but it wasn’t that,” Sweet Tea clarified. “It’s moreso, we as young women, we need to go where we’re celebrated. And I mean the older men, they looking for someone to love.”

Sweet Tea explained that the class wasn’t about creating a “sugar baby, sugar daddy” relationship. “You want your partner to feel accepted within your friend groups and within your family,” she added. She further explained the meaning behind the Sweet & Savory Collective’s name: “The savory is sweet tea. When you think of sweet, you think of fun, youthful. And when you think of savory, you think of someone that’s well-seasoned.”

Clash with Dr. Heavenly Kimes

Tensions flared during the speed dating event when Dr. Heavenly Kimes made an appearance. Sweet Tea, who has had several fiery exchanges with Dr. Heavenly, whom she refers to as “Dentist The Menace,” admitted that while she’s over Heavenly’s negativity, she’s always ready for a fight. “If you want to play nice, you’re going to have to come in the room nice, but also people got to keep in mind that I’m young and I like a little razzle dazzle here. I like to cuss people out,” she shared, attributing her feisty nature to her Gemini personality. “I had to tell the ladies, you’ve got to understand if you want to come over and play with me, understand that I am 32 years old.”

Sweet Tea also took a firm stance when it came to insults directed at her husband, Dr. Gregory Lunceford. She made it clear that she wouldn’t tolerate any disrespect toward him, particularly due to his work in mental health. “You can’t insult my husband, especially in the practice that he’s in,” she said. “She [Heavenly] needs to turn that closet where she does her YouTube into a prayer’s closet and I think that she can be okay.”

Reunion Drama and Miss Quad “Jealousy”

Looking ahead to the Married to Medicine reunion, Sweet Tea is prepared to defend both herself and her husband — though she might skip the reunion entirely. “I’m going to have a lot to say if I go,” she teased.

Sweet Tea also sparked controversy with her recent comments about Dr. Gregory Lunceford’s ex-wife, Quad Webb, which went viral. During a YouTube discussion, Sweet Tea boldly stated that she believes Miss Quad is jealous of her. “I’m married to a doctor, I am in public health, I have a relation to medicine,” Sweet Tea said. “And I know at one point she did call my husband asking for a favor and he didn’t do that for her. And I think that she’s upset that she doesn’t have access to that anymore.”

Sweet Tea continued, adding more fuel to the fire: “And then also I’m trying to have a baby and all those things and she wants to do the same thing. And I don’t think that that was in the cards from what I’ve heard from other people within the group. And so I just feel like it seems like she’s just seemed to trying to follow the leader, if you get what I’m saying.”

As Married to Medicine continues to unfold, Sweet Tea remains unapologetic about her opinions, relationships, and the drama that follows her every move.
