‘RHONYC’ Producers Seek New Cast Members Ahead of Season 15 Reunion
Producers of Real Housewives of New York City seem to already be scouting for new faces — and the current season isn’t even finished yet.
On January 27, Bravo fans noticed that Shed Casting, the company behind the show, was actively searching for potential new cast members for the reality series. “It’s that time… 🍎Come and get your apple,” the casting account posted on Instagram, sparking excitement and speculation among fans.
Shed Media, the production company behind RHONY, as well as The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and shows like Basketball Wives and Paris in Love, is known for its major reality TV hits. In addition to teasing the search for new faces, Shed Casting addressed common questions from fans in their Instagram Stories. Producers are specifically looking for Brooklyn and Manhattan residents who have an “organic connection to someone on the cast,” suggesting that any potential new cast members would need to fit into the existing group’s dynamic.
The current Real Housewives of New York City Season 15 cast includes Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, Brynn Whitfield, and Racquel Chevremont. Designer Rebecca Minkoff has also appeared as a “friend” of the wives. However, with casting now underway, it’s clear that changes could be on the horizon.
The casting call also specified that producers are seeking women who “should be living a Bravo lifestyle.” While there’s no specific age limit, they’re aiming for women in their 30s to 50s who fit well with the current cast. With the reunion just around the corner, this casting news feels like a major shift. The reunion is set to air the following day, January 28, and is expected to delve into the fallout from the infamous Puerto Rico trip that tore apart Brynn and Ubah’s friendship.
During the trip, Brynn, 39, was deeply hurt when Ubah, 41, accused her of sleeping with someone to get cast on the show. The accusation was especially painful for Brynn, who had previously confided in Ubah about being a victim of sexual assault. Ubah quickly denied knowing about Brynn’s past, leading to a tense final night in Puerto Rico with the cast trying to keep the peace.
In the aftermath, several women, including Erin, Sai, and Jessel, have been seen supporting Ubah, distancing themselves from Brynn as a result of the accusations.
The Real Housewives of New York City airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo, with previous episodes available for streaming on Peacock.
