‘Your IQ is not even a quarter of mine’ – Sudi fires back at Sifuna over school dropout jibe

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has fired back at Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who questioned how President William Ruto could closely associate with individuals lacking academic qualifications.
In a rebuttal post on his X account on Thursday, February 20, 2025, Sudi dismissed Sifuna’s remarks, arguing that leadership is about more than just academic credentials.
Sudi challenged Sifuna’s assertion that President William Ruto surrounds himself with individuals lacking formal education, questioning whether voters themselves are all university graduates. He emphasized that leadership requires a combination of intelligence, experience, and innate abilities rather than academic credentials.
Further, Sudi took a personal swipe at Sifuna, claiming that his intellectual capacities were incomparable. He accused him of failing to grasp the broader dynamics of effective leadership.
“You are saying that Ruto is hanging out with class two dropouts, are our voters graduates? Can you compare me with you Sifuna? You know your IQ is not even a quarter of mine. Look for somebody else you can compare yourself with. I’m in another class. While education is undeniably important, effective leadership requires more than just academic credentials. It’s a blend of intelligence and inherent qualities, something that Wamunyoro’s lapdog doesn’t seem to fathom,” Sudi stated.

Sifuna’s remarks
The verbal exchange started when Sifuna criticized Ruto for surrounding himself with individuals he claimed did not meet the intellectual standards expected of leaders. He particularly singled out Sudi, describing him as a class two dropout and questioned how a self-proclaimed intellectual leader like Ruto could align himself with such individuals.
“How can Ruto, a man who insists that he has a PhD and that nobody should lecture him on anything, be hanging out with a class two dropout?” Sifuna asked.
Adding;
“What happens in such an arrangement is that you automatically lower the average intelligence in the room to at least Class 8.”

The senator stressed that leadership requires sound decision-making and competent associates, arguing that Ruto’s ties with Sudi undermine the seriousness of governance.
“They say birds of a feather flock together. So how does a PhD holder constantly associate with people who are clearly not of the same intellectual calibre? That cannot be true,” he stated.
Sifuna added that Kenyans don’t need academic titles to understand their struggles under Ruto’s leadership.
“We might not have PhDs, but we know how we feel about our country and where it needs to go. And we will speak the truth no matter what. Nobody will scare us, and nobody will threaten us.”
He accused Ruto’s allies of resorting to insults instead of addressing public grievances.
“That is why he and his allies are speaking the way they do. That is why he is insulting the public at every turn. Instead of listening, he tells Kenyans off and tries to intimidate those who speak out.”
